Everest Acclimatization and Climb Itinerary

As I was hoping, I’ve been having some good conversations with some great people leading up to my departure. A lot of those conversation have focused on what I’ll actually be doing for the two months I’m in Nepal. Since I probably won’t have time to reach out to all of you before I leave I thought I’d post the rough itinerary for the climb. It will likely change up a bit due to weather, physical health, and whether or not I can stand my tent mate (obviously not vice versa). Take a look at the attached PDF and leave a comment with the day you think I’ll actually be making my summit bid. If you guess right I’ll make sure you get a signed copy of my next album!

  1. Just looked over the schedule/itinerary. Suddenly this whole thing is becoming more real, and this kid of mine (who has obviously supplemented his ice cream regimen with a few too many slices of fruitcake) is shoving his parents into a pit of anxiety from which we may never fully recover. Actually….it’s a nervous excitement, knowing I’d love to be going there with you, but also knowing there’s no way I would have prepped as thoroughly as you. Live the dream, son–live the dream!!

    1. Thanks dad! I’ll be in regular contact to help ease the anxiety. Also, one of the guys who got me into climbing was your age. Its never too late 😉

      1. I can’t afford your vices on an educator’s budget! 🙂 (That and about 12 other excuses.)

  2. Here’s the problem… I was going to guess May 23rd upon reading your post; however, when I opened the itenerary I saw May 23rd as your summit day. Now I’m just not sure that can be right, but hopefully it is as that will mean a relatively seamless climb.

  3. 23 May is Sarah and my anniversary, so I hope it’s that day! (It’s also my half birthday 😉 ) I think your half birthday will be too late, or I would have picked that day. Disappointing.
